JAKARTA, PANJI RAKYAT: Erick Thohir memenangi pertarungan pemilihan Ketua Umum (Ketum) PSSI, setalah menoreh 64 suara dari pemilik suara (voter) dalam pemilihan yang berlangsung di Kongres Luar Biasa (KLB) PSSI di Jakarta, Kamis (16/2/2023).
Erick Thohir banyak dipilih voters, daripada pesaing kuatnya yakni Ketua DPD RI LaNyalla Mattalitti yang mendapatkan 22 suara.

Erick Thohir dinilai tepat untuk menjabat sebagai Ketum PSSI, yang sebelumnya Pengamat olahraga Fritz Simanjuntak.
“Salah satu keunggulannya, Pak Erick Thohir pernah memiliki klub elit di Italia, Inter Milan, dan beliau jadi presiden klub tersebut,” ujar Fritz dalam keterangan yang diterima pada Kamis.
Dengan sepak terjangnya itu, Menteri BUMN ini tahu persis akan mana pengurus sepak bola di Italia menata kompetisi, membina tim nasional, menegakkan peraturan, membangun aspek bisnisnya dan menjalin hubungan yang harmonis dengan para suporternya.
“Beliau kalau tidak salah investasi sebesar 480 juta dolar AS untuk membeli Inter Milan dan beliau berhasil meningkatkan nilai saham klub tersebut. Pengalaman berharga ini tidak dimiliki calon lain,” ujar Fritz.
Namun, keadaan sepakbola Italia antara Indonesia jauh berbeda dengan Negeri Pizza itu. Kendati begitu, Ia menilai Erick dapat menerapkan manajemen berkualitas tinggi dan tegas dengan aturan seperti di Italia dalam mengelola sepak bola Indonesia.
Fritz berharap pada seorang Erick Thohir, agar bisa mengikuti jejak pengusaha Australia, Frank Lowy, yang berhasil melakukan reformasi di sepak bola di Negeri Kanguru.
Australia yang telah mengalami keterpurukan dalam kompetisi besar dan prestasi yang runtuh, namun dapat bangkit karena Lowy berhasil membuat kompetisi untung besar dan Australia bisa lolos ke piala dunia.
“Saya berharap Pak Erick bisa melakukan hal yang sama. Untuk itu, saya berharap Pak Erick menambah struktur di PSSI untuk duduk sebagai strategi manajemen. Organisasi olahraga kita tidak pernah memiliki struktur ini,” lanjut Fritz.
Menurutnya, dalam merealisasikan perubahan Erick perlu mendapatkan dukungan dan komitmen yang sama dari para pemegang suara. Fritz berharap para pemegang suara bisa berpikir jernih dalam memberikan suaranya.

“Harapannya agar voters tidak menggunakan hak suara untuk kepentingan pribadinya. Voters harus lebih mementingkan masa depan sepakbola Indonesia dalam memberikan suaranya,” kata Fritz.
